| Westland WS-55 Whirlwind Series 3, c/n WA/493,
G-ATKV was first registered in November 1965, when purchased by Bristow Helicopters. In
1967 it was exported to Iran, re-registered as EP-HAN, and served with the Iranian
Helicopter Company. It was soon returned to Bristow, with registration restored as G-ATKV,
and spent most of its working life in Dubai, on contract to Shell. From 1974,
bearing the Helicopter Rentals (Bermuda) logo, it was re-registered as VR-BEU. It
returned to Redhill in 1980 and was eventually acquired by The Helicopter Museum and
delivered to Weston-super-Mare, still carrying its Bermuda registration. Please note that, for safety reasons, this helicopter is not normally on display to visitors. |
